Year By Year 

Each of the four main areas of the curriculum is broken down into strands of learning, and each of these strands is made up of a series of statements. The statements total two or three per year group per each strand and are designed to ensure that a child's learning is developed through a coherent progression as they move through the school.

Below is an overview of each year group's curriculum. Geography, History and DT knowledge and skills are developed sequentially through several of our curriculum strands, and French is taught through Wonderful Wednesdays alongside aspects of Music and PE.

 

Term By Term

Your child's teacher will take the overview of statements for the year and pull them together in order to make a plan for the term, placing a high quality picture book at the heart of the learning. The richness and breadth of the curriculum comes through the many creative ways the statements from different strands can combine, within a theme inspired by the story, setting, illustrations or message within the picture book.
